Onboard Coffee Appreciation Courses

Pacific Dawn; the first superliner in the P&O Cruises’ Australia fleet will celebrate her first birthday on 7th November 2008.

To coincide with this the cruise line is to offer onboard coffee appreciation courses which will be exclusively available from November 2008.

The coffee appreciation courses will see guests enjoy a variety of hands on coffee demonstrations and a selection of interactive lectures on each of the cruises. Each of the demonstrations and lectures will give guests an insight into all they need to and want to know about coffee.

Five crew members of P&O Cruises have undergone training to become coffee ambassadors. Their training will enable them to produce an exciting selection of coffee appreciation courses with some fantastic demonstrations. They will be able to provide guests with all the relevant information they need to know; including answering any questions guests may have.

Visa Waiver Scheme

Many people do not realise that travelling to the States does not require a visa; it is operated by what is known as the Visa Waiver Scheme. As long as you have a new and machine readable passport you will be fine.

However, if you have been arrested for any crime, even if you where not found guilty, it could effect your chances of getting onto the US. Ocean Village Transfer to P&O Cruises Australia

Ocean Village Cruises is to be closed with the ships being transfered to P&O Cruises Australia, as the Carnival Corporation rearrange their UK based operation.

Even though Island Cruises has been sold by Royal Caribbean, this was not enough to save Ocean Village Cruises.

According to Carnival Corporation, the UK market will be better served with the current P&O Cruises fleet which is set to expand when Azure joins them in March 2010.

Cunard, one of the other Carnival Corporation owned cruise lines are also set to get a new ship, the Queen Elizabeth in 2010.

P&O Cruises Australia

P&O Cruises also operate in Australia with P&O Australia, who currently have a fleet of two unique ships.

The two ships in the fleet are Pacific Sun and Pacific Dawn.

P&O Australia offer a range of cruises that depart from Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland; lasting between 2 and 28 nights. Pacific Sun and Pacific Dawn both cruise to many fascinating destinations including; New Zealand and Queensland.

P&O Arcadia Drugs Bust

P&O Cruises’ Arcadia was raided whilst she was docked in Southampton as part of a drugs raid.

HM Revenue and Customs and the UK Border Agency seized drugs with an estimated street value of £1.2 million.

The raid led to seven people being arrested that are said to be from the Birmingham and Manchester area. Four of the arrested were found with 30kg of cocaine strapped to their bodies.

None of the arrested are crew members of P&O.
