Artemis
Joining the P&O Cruises fleet in 2005, Artemis is the smallest ship in the fleet weighing in at 44,348 tons. Originally she cruised as Royal Princess for Princess Cruise Lines. She was named by Prunella Scales, the actress of “Fawlty Towers” fame. Artemis is able to carry 1,188 passengers in 594 cabins. She has 8 decks and is 754 feet long.
Rather like the newer and larger Arcadia, P&O Cruises Artemis is a child free ship. Being smaller than most cruise ships Arcadia offers an intimate and often quieter style of traditional cruising.
P&O Cruises have recently refitted Artemis to give her a new stylish look and feel. However even though she has been modernised, Artemis still offers the usual fare when it comes to a P&O Cruises cruise, namely afternoon tea, Shuffleboard and the formal evenings that so many of her often returning cruisers enjoy.
Artemis has many features including:
4 whirlpool spas
8 places to drink
Coffee and chocolate bar
Tate Britain Talks
Observation lounge
2 show lounges
Art gallery
Cinema
Casino
Spa and ocean view gym
Card/games room
Music Festivals at Sea
